Wilderness Road Trail is 8.49 miles long. This trail is part of Wilderness Road State Park. I've taken many people out on this trail over the years, and everyone of them seemed to tremendously enjoy the stroll. Well, and these days the state park offers bicycle rentals, so I've also enjoyed renting a bike and riding on the Wilderness Road Trail as well. According to the state park literature, "The park also includes the Wilderness Road Trail, which roughly follows the historic route carved by Daniel Boone in 1775. The 8-mile hiking, biking and equestrian trail connects Wilderness Road State Park to the Cumberland Gap National Historical Park." Stocked up some brochures into the tourism info gazebo at this trail entrance today before I headed to Martin's Station to "witness the Virginia frontier come alive with various century demonstrations during their annual Fall Encampment."
