The grand marshal is Jessie Bates of Pennington Gap, a veteran of the Vietnam War. The parade theme is: "POW-MIA's (Prisoners of War/ Missing in Action)." The parade will move east to west from Pennington Middle School to Lee Bank.

Tuesday, December 31, 2013, during the evening, NEW YEARS EVE BALL DROP in Leeman Field Park in Pennington Gap. An annual New Year’s Eve event, live music will be presented during the evening and the bright ball will be dropped at the stroke of New Year in Leeman Field park.
